May...Meg's Birthday

Happy Birthday Megan!

This May was sad because our camera has been really acting up. I am always sad when that happens because it means pics of special events aren't taken. That is the case now. Meg's birthday was awesome. We had a bunch of people over for a party and had a great time! But, sadly, no pics were taken. But this post will still remind us of her special day.

We are so proud of you. You are such a good student. You have so many wonderful talents. You are so much fun to have around and are such a good girl. You are a good friend, and you think about others. You are generous and kind. You are growing up to be a beautiful young woman. I can't believe you are in Young Womens now - that is completely crazy!! I am excited for you to enter into this next phase of your life and grow in ways you didn't know you could. You are such a blessing to our family. We love you!

MAY

Let's start with Meg & Aus's Spring Concert at the Middle School. Unfortunately, our camera has been on the fritz lately, and we didn't get any good shots of their concert. And Austin was so far back in the band that we didn't get any of him at all. *sad*

Mother's Day was awesome.

Allen and the kids had the cutest idea! They decorated a pillow case/sham that I will treasure forever! They put their pictures on it and wrote cute notes all over it - it was the best! I loved it!

Silly Kids!

Allen was putting the car topper on the van for yet another scout campout. The kids (and friends kids - they aren't all mine!) had fun playing in it before he packed it up! Because of our camera issue - no scout pics were taken by Allen, again, sad.

Grandparents Day at King Street. Since our Grandparents live so far away - Cam and Spenc had to compromise. Meg didn't have school that day, so Meg & I were Grandpa/Grandma. It was nice not to have to juggle multiple classes this year. Cam had fun making a cute craft and Spenc drew that cool picture with pastels. Cameron and his friend posed for a fun picture. Awesome.

We said good-bye to one of our favorite missionaries - Elder Iro. The kids were so sad to see him go. The boys did the "Hakka" for days!

Youth Conference is done on the Stake Level every year so it is always 14 and older. Austin was lucky enough to be able to go this year. He had SUCH a great time. Their theme was "Hold To The Rod" - they were split into "families" for the duration of the time and did a bunch of activities and projects that focused on that theme. Austin's most memorable was when they were all blindfolded, and re-enacted Lehi's dream. They held onto a rope and were "tempted" by different things and people that tried to get them to let go of the rod. It was a really neat experience for him. So, thanks to ALL the leaders who helped make it such a fabulous youth conference! But next time, could you leave the 2 ticks you got there!

The other part of May was Austin & Megans marching in the Memorial Day Parade in Port Chester. But, like we said, our camera is on the fritz and none of the pictures we took turned out. Such a bummer. I guess I know what I want for my birthday! :)

May was great! Full of lots'o'stuff - as always!! :)

April....Cameron's Birthday

Yeah! Cameron's Birthday!

I can't believe my baby is 7 -- time just seems to fly by faster and faster!

Cameron, you are such a joy. You are so easy-going and have such a fun personality. We are so lucky to have you in our family, you make our family complete! You are such a good boy, you do well in school - you are a really good reader - and you love math! Your teachers always say what a joy you are to have in class and I have never doubted that - because we feel the same way about having you in our family! We love you so much!

Next up...

Spencer's class trip. NYC broadway to The Wizard of Oz. Super cool...it really was great!

I was so lucky to have been able to go - it was a lottery because there were so many mom's who wanted to go! This cute picture was the group I was in charge of - Spencer and the boys!

Can't forget Spencer's Spring Concert at the Middle School - what a cutie! His 3rd grade sang a couple songs, and played the recorder...cute.

Then --- Scout Camp. Again. yes, again. They love going and this time was no different. They did so many great activities and Austin came home with a very unwanted friend. Yes, a tick. They came home stinky and tired, but had a great time, tick and all.

APRIL

April was again...busy. I feel like I say that for every post! Sheesh.

But, it really was.

We went to the Bronx Zoo (one of our favorite places) a couple times. Austin was sharpening his photography skills...and does a really good job.

Easter Picture - Manor Park - unfortunately, the sun was SO bright, there was such a glare! But it was a beautiful day so we didn't complain. You can still see how cute the kids are, you just can't see the beach!

District Pinewood Derby - Spencer came in 3rd place. He probably would have done better if we would have remembered that there was a pre-registration where you have to take your car in 3 days early. Thank heavens we had good friends watching out for us! (thanks Schmidts) At least his car got in - with literally zero minutes to spare - they were packing up registration when I got there! Allen was at work that night and I had to take it in. We weren't able to do any last minute prep so, we were really happy with 3rd place! Good Job Spenc!

March

So, March was pretty much a blurrrrrrr....so crazy! Going here and there - taking kids everywhere...

Meg was so busy, we hardly saw her!

She tried out for, and made District Choir, the performance was at Suny Purchase again this year, always fun!

Then, the rest was consumed with the Middle School play.
Ironically, all 4 kids were involved somehow!
Meg and Cam were in it...so many hours!
