St.George!

So Glade & Sheryl, aka Dad & Mom, aka Grandpa and Grandma, had their 50th wedding anniversary! The only thing they wanted was to be all together, so we all headed to St. George for a few days to spend some quality-barney-time together! I must say - it was awesome!

So my brother Jared, his wife Camille and their 2 kids decided to take a little adventure, and move to North Dakota for 2 weeks - it's a long story. Anyway, on their way, they did a lot of site seeing and this was one funny postcard they got. I couldn't help but laugh. and it still makes me giggle everytime I see it.

We had a really great summer. We got to spend a few days with one of our very most favorite families - ever. We had so much fun, it was really hard to leave. I held back the tears when Melissa dropped us off in St. George for our family reunion and found myself breaking down randomly during the day. We really miss that family, and love it when we get to spend time with them, which is not often enough. We spent the day boating on Lake Mead, which was awesome. We also celebrated Spencer's birthday by going out to dinner, and then yummy cupcakes after. The kids loved Trampoline World (don't remember exact name - but that is basically what it was) and overall just had a great time together. LOVE LOVE LOVE them!

To start off the summer right, we went to the Titanic exhibit in Times Square with some friends. It was really cool and the kids had a great time. They loved walking through and seeing/learning about what happened. They each got the name of a passenger and at the end of the exhibit, they got to see if their person was a survivor or not. The little guys didn't like that idea since most of them were not survivors, but all in all, it was a great day. After the exhibit we went to Olive Garden and boy did we get the looks when 3 moms walked in with 12 kids! In Utah it would be no big deal - but here - that's another story! I think the child population in NYC is 1.5 kids per family - each of us that went had 4 kids, so we more than doubled that Manhattan statistic - it was awesome!

July 2009 - Girls Camp/Scouts

July was fun-filled-crazy-busy month!

Megan went to girls' camp! This was her first year and had a fabulous time. She had such a wonderful experience and loved the whole week with the girls and leaders! She loved getting to know the other girls in the stake and truly gained a stronger testimony of our Savior. I loved girls' camp as a youth and am so grateful she gets to have this experience also. I am so grateful for the different programs the church offers us as members - to help us strengthen our testimonies, and relationships with each other.

JULY 2009

July was great. Summer in full swing, and the fun begins!

First, we decided to do an overhaul on Meg's room. Meg designed the entire thing - awesome. But, bad for the fact that we do not have a single "before" picture! We changed the paint from blue/pink to a dark purple. It turned out perfect. We tore up the carpet to find beautiful hard wood floors! We were so happy about that! This picture is of Meg closing the can of white paint, and it exploded all over her - it was hilarious! Will post an "after" picture when it is finished.

We decided that since Allen and Austin were off having fun doing the whole scout day hike thing, we were going to have some fun of our own. So, we went into the city, went to Battery Park and had lunch, walked the boardwalk, and enjoyed a beautiful day outside.
